DENİZLİ PLACES TO VISIT

Denizli, which is partly located in the Aegean and partly in the Mediterranean Region due to its geographical location, undoubtedly hosts many natural beauties due to its suitable climate as well as many natural wonders around it and its proximity to the beach.

  • Travertines of Pamukkale
  • Karahayit – Red Water
  • Cleopatra Pool (Ancient Pool)
  • Salda Lake
  • Incegiz Canyon
  • Denizli Nikfer Ski Center
Travertines of Pamukkale
Travertines of Pamukkale

It is about 20 km away from the city center of Denizli, and when the thermal water resources in the region come to light, it has formed by giving a chemical reaction and forming calcium carbonate precipitate.

Autopark is sold for 25 TL. It will be tiring for the elderly and small children. Entry is free with the museum card. Very crowded entrances. I recommend that you come with your museum card or download the app and log in. A great place. It is possible to enter the Cleopatra pool inside with an extra fee of 70 TL. Be sure to bring something to eat with you. Have a drink. Because the prices are not like Bodrum. If you don’t want to walk, you can go to places such as the south gate and the north gate by shuttles for a fee of around 20 TL. I wish our state would run places like pools and prices would be more affordable for Turkish citizens. I think that quality and employment will be more efficient.

Karahayit – Red Water
Karahayit – Red Water

Located 5 km north of the travertines, Karahayıt is the twin brother of Pamukkale. However, unlike Karahayıt, the thermal waters, which are rich in bicarbonate, sodium, sulfate, magnesium and calcium, form red precipitate. In this respect, the thermal water in Karahayıt is also known as “Red Water”. You should not return from Denizli without entering the Red Water, which is stated by physicians to be good for many rheumatic diseases such as joint pains and arthritis.

If you have been to visit the travertines, of course, you should not go expecting the natural perfection of the travertines, but I think you should definitely not go while you are in Denizli. I suggest you don’t go around the corner and wait and follow the crowd. That’s how I saw the source where the water came from. Even in the parts where the water flows to the ground, my feet burned. People are washing their hands and faces. I really didn’t expect it to be this hot. Frankly, I am amazed at those who say to wash your hands.

Cleopatra Pool (Ancient Pool)
Cleopatra Pool (Ancient Pool)

In an earthquake in the ancient city of Hierapolis, the ancient pool was formed as a result of the collapse of the columns into a pit dug in the middle of the city and due to the height of the ground water level. The Antique Pool is also known as the Cleopatra Pool due to the rumor that Cleopatra visited the pool, which is at an ideal temperature in summer and winter, in order to beautify. The pool is located between Pamukkale Travertines and Hierapolis Amphitheater.

It is as if they have added a piece of the natural beauty of Pamukkale to history, not artificial.

Salda Lake
Salda Lake

Gaining quite a popularity in recent years; Although Salda Lake, which is known as Turkey’s Maldives and destroys Instagram with photographs, is located within the borders of Burdur province; When you come to Denizli, it is impossible to pass up this unique natural wonder with its white sandy beach.

It’s my favorite place, it’s a natural wonder. It was truly magnificent. I’m only talking about the natural beauty of the lake.
Rich mineral content of Salda lake water; nature has provided this lake with white sand and a turquoise landscape.

Incegiz Canyon
Incegiz Canyon

Located within the provincial borders of Denizli and Muğla; It is a canyon 45 kilometers from the center of Kale district of Denizli. The canyon, which has attracted an increasing number of visitors with the Instagram frenzy in recent years, is also known as “Arabapıştı” among the people. We are thin; places to visit in denizli castle and places to visit between denizli and muğla; Another location that should definitely not be missed for nature lovers.

I would NOT recommend for those with a fear of heights
cool in MAY
It has minor problems, worth visiting, 2 km dirt road is still smooth
Aydın Denizli is the exact point of the 3 provinces of Muğla.

Denizli Nikfer Ski Center
Denizli Nikfer Ski Center

Known as Nikfer Ski Center or Bozdağ Ski Center; the ski center, 85 km from the city center; where visitors have not yet developed a universal naming; It is becoming popular with the newly built facility. chairlift, ski lift, ski slope; The ski center, which has treadmills and ski equipment rental facilities; has ideal tracks for amateurs in terms of fog and wind. If you come to Denizli in winter, you should definitely see Bozdağ Ski Center! There is no need to hesitate if it is about the difficult transportation conditions in winter!

A nice ski resort. 1 and a half hours from the center of Denizli. Since there is ice on the road; I recommend you to come with snow socks or chains. In some places, even the chain does not save. There are some flaws as it is newly opened. But still beautiful. If you’re new to learning, I suggest you come. It also has a track for sledding. Runways are blue or red. There is even a place where you can rent ski and snowboard gear.
